Military Chronograph Watch
Military Chronograph Watches are not only timekeepers, they also operate as stopwatches and are ideal for training procedures and the like. These masterfully crafted timepieces (which may either be digital or analog although there are hybrid makes) have been a staple timekeeping device for both military personnel and sports trainers; indeed, it is not hard to imagine some swimming trainer someplace keeping her/his team at top speed with a military chronograph watch. Those in special forces are quick to capitalize on military chronographs, since not only do they allow for easy synchronization to a standard time, but the stopwatch functions are invaluable for operations and drills. Keeping the wearer informed of time zones is not the only function of many military watches.
Analog military chronograph watches usually have three extra dials on the clock face: one for seconds, another for minutes and yet another for hours—even millisecond dials are sometimes a feature of analog military chronographs. Digital chronograph military watches on the other hand, more often than not, show only either the stopwatch or the actual time upon the activation of the wearer.
Military chronograph watches almost always feature luminous dials, making it an utterly versatile timepiece. Also, one need not limit himself to a wristwatch when looking for that art-endowed timepiece; vintage pocket military chronographs (ideally complete with chain) are some of the most sought after mechanical masterpieces. And though none of them boast luminous dials, it is indeed a small payoff for that more classic, civilized feel. Finding these types of military chronographs will undoubtedly prove to be difficult, let alone the dent it will make on anyone’s bank account but consider that pocket military chronograph watches are one of the most elegant timekeepers known to mankind, some are even sold today as memorabilia from WW I and it is not at all inconceivable that these may even still be in working condition; military watches in general are indeed the strongest in the timekeeping industry.
Setting aside its vintage predecessors, modern military chronograph watches cost anywhere from 150 USD to over 500 USD—precision indeed, comes at high prices, though it is a payoff only inevitable for unmatched timekeeping with regards to elegance, accuracy and overall reliability.
Still retaining the severely precise nature of all other kinds of military timepieces, military chronograph watches are the finest in the industry, measuring time accurate to the tiniest slice of a second.
